  • Context and challenges of assessment

Module I: behavioural preferences and motivations

  • Understanding the tool and the scientific basis
  • Finding out about the colour method
  • Incorporating values and motivations
  • Practical exercise

Module II: from specifications to observable criteria

  • Why to use a competencies framework for assessment?
  • Introduction to the Lominger competencies framework
  • Setting the criteria and angles of observation
  • Gathering information and objects observed
  • The added value of the competencies framework in succession planning
  • Practical exercise

Module III: modelling assessment activities

  • The multi-source approach: simulation exercises; role play; self-assessment; structured interviews
  • Establishing which exercise to use for observing a specific skill
  • The observation grid
  • Weighting competencies
  • Practical exercise

DAY 2

Module IV: assessment and management planning of jobs and skills

  • Recruitment and growth assessment
  • The assessment center
  • Recommendations plan and report
  • Feedback to the client and candidate
  • The added value in using a psychometric tool in an assessment

Module V: Practical – developing an assessment concept

  • Developing an assessment based on the definition of skills from the job description to feedback
  • Group work
